The New Beginnings Foundation was founded in partnership with Stockport Local Authority in May 2018. The New Beginnings mission is to work holistically with families who are known to Children’s Social Care for concerns relating to neglect; emotional, physical or sexual abuse. An intrinsic part of New Beginnings is to deepen parents’ understanding into who they are and what they have been through the telling and sharing of personal histories. This method is rooted in the recognition that if change is to occur in parenting practices, then individuals need to have the space to articulate their perspectives on what has happened to them. New Beginnings became a registered charity (1198338) in March 2022 and is now looking to expand its board of trustees to support the next steps of its journey. To complement our current board’s expertise, we are specifically looking for individuals with expertise in accounting and finance. 

 

Our primary aim to recruit a new finance trustee to the board, or co-opt in a specialist to our finance committee, with accounting and/ or finance skills and expertise, to support the board in reviewing its financial and risk metrics. This would be a great opportunity for someone who is looking for experience within Voluntary Charity Sector. Your expertise could help New Beginnings improve its current financial reporting measures and also, help it grow and reach other local authorities across Greater Manchester.
